In today’s world, having a personal laptop is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. Yet, in many communities across West Africa and beyond, countless bright, motivated students are unable to keep up with their education simply because they lack access to this essential tool. Without a laptop, it’s difficult for them to learn new skills, or explore digital opportunities that could change their future.

Some students are forced to share limited devices with family members, while others depend on overcrowded internet cafes or even try to complete work using small mobile phones making it almost impossible to fully participate in modern education. Their dreams, creativity, and potential are limited not by talent, but by lack of access.

At the Self Reliance Empowerment Foundation (SREF), we believe this must change.

The Laptop Donation & Empowerment Program: A Solution for Young Dreamers

That is why we created the Laptop Donation & Empowerment Program to break down the digital barriers holding young people back. This program is dedicated to giving deserving students their own laptops, opening doors to endless learning opportunities and empowering them to build their future confidently.

Launched in 2023 , the program has already impacted the lives of many students from underprivileged backgrounds. Our vision is simple: no dream should be left behind because of a missing tool. Every student deserves a chance to explore the world of knowledge, creativity, and technology.

A Remarkable Event: July 19th, 2025

On Saturday, 19th July 2025, SREF held its most recent Laptop Donation event at the Cantonment Campus Institute, opposite the CID Headquarters in Cantonments.

We invite you to join us in this mission:
