Robert serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Self Reliance Empowerment Foundation Inc. (SREF). Prior to assuming this leadership role, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees and has been a committed supporter of the Foundation’s mission since June 2024.

Robert serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Self Reliance Empowerment Foundation Inc. (SREF). Prior to assuming this leadership role, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees and has been a committed supporter of the Foundation’s mission since June 2024.
Robert is deeply passionate about helping youth and young adults prepare for meaningful and successful futures. His lifelong commitment to service led him to extensive volunteer work and a distinguished career in the medical field. He began his adult service by representing his church as a volunteer in Northern Germany from 1972 to 1974. Upon returning to the United States, he pursued formal training in medicine and became a certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist in 1979.
For nearly four decades, Robert worked professionally as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, providing physicians and patients with accurate, timely, and critical diagnostic information derived from laboratory analysis. His work played an essential role in patient care and clinical decision-making. He served in this profession from 1979 until his retirement in 2016 and also held multiple laboratory management roles during that period.
In addition to his professional career, Robert has maintained a strong record of community and faith-based service. From 1979 to 2016, he volunteered as a lay clergyman for his church, served as a Boy Scout leader, and regularly supported community initiatives, including the March of Dimes Walkathon and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. As Board President of SREF, Robert provides steady governance, ethical leadership, and a service-driven vision in support of the Foundation’s mission to empower individuals and communities through self-reliance.
