At the Self Reliance Empowerment Foundation (SREF), we believe in unlocking the future— Daakye Kɛseɛ—for every young person with the desire and determination to pursue a higher education. Our program is designed to support youth of tertiary education age by providing them with the tools, resources, and mentorship needed to complete life-changing degree programs that build lasting self-reliance. This program is a powerful solution to structural unemployment. It bridges the gap for underprivileged youth to enroll in accredited and affordable degree courses through BYU Pathway Worldwide, a model that delivers real economic and social impact. Our Founder and Executive Director, Edward Nortei Nortey, is a living testament to the life-changing potential of this program.

Laptops Donations

We provide laptops to qualified beneficiaries an essential tool for academic success in today’s digital world.

Internet Access Support

We assist students with reliable internet access so they can stay connected to their virtual classrooms and research platforms.

In-Person Mentorship & Study Groups

We facilitate continuous in-person mentorship and peer support throughout the entire 3- to 4-year academic journey, ensuring each student stays focused, inspired, and guided.

A Serene Self-Reliance Learning Center

Join us in building the first SREF Self-Reliance Empowerment Centre—a safe and serene space equipped with internet access, a resource library, and training classrooms dedicated to digital literacy, career development, and entrepreneurial skills.

Community Engagement & Real-Time Support

Through our community outreach and entrepreneurship initiatives, we create real-time support systems, networking opportunities, and avenues for practical skills development.

Financial Assistance & Tuition Facilitation

Many of our beneficiaries face barriers such as lack of debit cards or secure banking options for paying tuition online. We partner with trusted financial institutions to help students overcome these obstacles and stay on track academically.
